GavelWith over 40 years of law enforcement experience, Sheriff Ray Nash (Ret.) brings unparalleled expertise to his role as an expert witness. He is court-qualified as an expert in both federal and state courts, specializing in police training and procedure, use of force, defensive tactics, evidence collection and preservation, and law enforcement technology. Sheriff Nash has provided case reviews, technical analysis, and expert reports on dozens of cases involving allegations of police misconduct, abuse of force, and improper investigative techniques, making him a trusted authority in the field. He is certified as a Force Science Analyst by the Force Science Institute, holds a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice Administration, and an undergraduate degree in Workforce Education, Training, and Development. Through the Police Dynamics Institute, Sheriff Nash has access to other experts in various law enforcement related fields that are available for case review, expert analysis, and court testimony.


Sheriff Nash's distinguished career includes serving as the Police Chief of two municipalities, a four-term Sheriff, and the Criminal Justice Adviser to the US Embassy in Afghanistan. He has also held key positions such as the Professional Development Director of the International Police Coordination Board Secretariat in Afghanistan, President of the Police Dynamics Institute, Director of the Institute of Police Polygraphy, Director of the National Sheriffs Association's Sheriff's Institute for Credible Leadership Development, Vice President of the International Academy of Public Safety, and Commissioner for the National Command and Staff College. Sheriff Nash has trained over 20,000 law enforcement, military, and government leaders worldwide in the character driven leadership program known as Police Dynamics. These experiences, coupled with his commitment to remain abreast of current law enforcement practices and related research, gives him a broad perspective on police protocols and standards from a national and international basis.
